Free Meals for Teachers and Education Professionals at Cafe Rio

From Cafe Rio:

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill has officially reached the east coast and with the two new openings in Manassas, VA and Olney, MD comes increased community involvement. During the week of August 29th-September 4th, Cafe Rio Mexican Grill is focusing on the teachers and education professionals of surrounding communities by giving them an “apple” if you will. Any local educator that presents their official ID at either of the new restaurants will receive a free meal! In addition, a donation jar will be next to each cash register, allowing customers to donate to their local school districts.

“Teachers are the unsung heroes of our local communities,” states Bob Baker, President and CFO of Cafe Rio Mexican Grill. “Giving them a free meal is the least we can do for their continued day-to-day effort.”

The company, new to the east coast as of 2011, has restaurants located in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, California, Colorado, Arizona, Maryland, and Virginia. With each opening comes a $2500 donation to the local school district. For the two East Coast locations donations were made to the Montgomery and Prince William County School Districts. Cafe Rio Mexican Grill also maintains a “Student-of-the-Week” program with local schools, rewarding chosen students for academic performance.

In that same spirit, Cafe Rio Mexican Grill welcomes fundraisers for local school programs and sports teams at each restaurant. To arrange a fundraising event contact Brenda Ricks at 801.930.6010 or email her at bricks@caferio.com for more information.
