ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) - A woman complained of pain and died after her car struck the vehicle in front of her on Rockville Pike on Wednesday, according to  Montgomery County Police.

The collision happened at approximately 7:35 a.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road. When police arrived, both drivers were outside of their vehicles and walking around in the area.

Hundreds Mark Anniversary Of Triple Fatal Accident In Olney

OLNEY, Md, (WUSA) -- They walked in silence through the tall grass of a park in Olney to reach a spot that conjures the saddest of memories.

It was exactly one year ago that 20-year-old Kevin Coffay was driving drunk on a winding section of Route 108, lost control of his car and slammed into the woods, killing three of his passengers: 18 year-old Haeley McGuire, 18 year-old Spenser Datt, and 20 year-old Johnny Hoover.

On Tuesday, with heavy hearts under their matching bright green shirts, friends and family members held a candlelight vigil, and laid a wreath at the tree where their loved ones' lives came to an end.

Kevin Coffay initially received 20 years in prison, but a judge recently reduced the sentence to eight, and it's possible he could be a free man again sometime next year.

5 Ways to Live Below Your Means (and Why You Should)

As a nation, we are knee deep in debt. In fact, the average Maryland resident is carrying around $7,000 in credit card debt alone. Add in the mortgage, some car payments, and student loans, and it’s easy to see that consumers are barely hanging on. The problem, according to many financial experts, is that people are spreading their money too thin, leaving very little to save and get out of debt with.

“If you put all your earnings into your debt then you will have a difficult time ever getting ahead or saving for a decent retirement,” explains Brad Glickman, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional, and President of Bernard R. Wolfe & Associates, Inc., a company specializing in offering wealth management strategies. “The good news is that it is never too late to make some changes that can have a meaningful, and lasting, impact.”
