Driver in Fatal Olney Accident Indicted

Olney,Md. (WUSA9)- On Thursday, September 22nd, the driver in a fatal accident in Olney last May, in which 3 people were killed,

was indicted today on 3 counts of vehicuar manslaughter and a single count

of leaving the scene of a fatal collision.  Three teenagers who were passengers

in the car, were killed in the May 15th crash.

 

Montgomery County Police say all five were inside a Toyota Corolla that ran off the side of Olney Laytonsville Road.The impact of the crash was so intense it embedded a piece of the car into a tree.

 

Kevin Coffay, 20, faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in the case, if

convicted. Setch Zucker, a spokesman for the Montgomery county States

Attorneys office tells 9 News Now that court dates will be scheduled for this
