Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section and the FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in White Oak. 

Yesterday at approximately 11:16 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the M & T Bank located at 11161 New Hampshire Avenue in White Oak for a bank robbery that had just occurred.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank and pointed a handgun at a teller.  The suspect then demanded and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing from the bank on a bicycle towards Lockwood Drive.    

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, 25 to 35 years of age, and between 5’07” to 5’08” tall.   He was armed with a handgun and was last seen wearing a black ski mask, sunglasses, a black baseball cap, and a black denim jacket.      

Investigators believe that this suspect may have previously robbed this same bank on October 14 as well as the following three additional banks:

~  October 30, Wachovia Bank located at 16810 Georgia Avenue in Olney.

~  September 1, Sovereign Bank located at 17920 Georgia Avenue in Olney.

~  July 2, Sovereign Bank located at 17920 Georgia Avenue in Olney.
